I cannot believe that it’s already the first of June. Where the Heck did May go, you ask!? Well for me, May was crazy busy with recitals, end of year school parties, exams, travel, my work in real estate, tennis tournaments, birthday parties, hangout fest, and the list could go on. I think we had a full week of activities and to do’s every single week. It literally feels like I blinked that month Gone. Since May blew by so quickly, I thought I would do a recap of some of my favorite purchases and share them with you here. I bought a lot of great Summer essential items from sunscreen/beauty products to my favorite swimsuits and that will be great for the upcoming Summer months.
Lets start the recap off with my favorite beauty product purchases. I won’t even pretend to be “extra” in my beauty routine. I am no beauty blogger fo sho. (I struggle with even applying eyeliner…. shhhhhh!!) But for that reason, if and when I find something that is easy for even myself to use and a product I want to use on the reg, I feel like its worth sharing. Let me start with Charlotte Tilbury. I am slowly building my collection as everything I get, I quickly become obsessed with. Plus, her website shows you how to use each product (Genius BTW)…..that is so something I need because there is nothing worse than having makeup products that you don’t know how to use.
The first thing I ever purchased from her makeup line was the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in “bitch perfect” (Don’t you love the name). It’s a perfect shade of peachy/pink/nude which is my live in, every day color. I was at Nordstrom and they were having an event and I just so happened to be wanting to try an actual lipstick (because I’m more of a gloss girl). I loved it immediately.
So this month, I decided to get a few more items and my first must try and have was the lip cheat lip pencil in the color Pillow Talk (bc it goes with the lipstick color I purchased previously).
I have been looking for a lip pencil, but ones that I tried were hard…so hard that they hurt my lips to even apply. This one is velvety smooth, and I love how you can use it to resize and reshape your lips, fill in the color, and it lasts for about 6 hours. My mom always used lip liner and I am just now getting in to it. I never knew it was really used to keep your lipstick from running and now that I am getting older (and wise *insert wink face) I felt it time to add to my makeup routine. Now I’m OBSESSED. Plus this shade (Pillow Talk) is the perfect nude/pink/peachy tone, so it really can go with any other lip color over. Moving on, bc I love this so much I can talk about it all day!
Next product is also in the Charlotte Tilbury Line. It’s a glow primer and what better time to glow than the Summer Time.
I love that this primer also has anti aging properties. It illuminates my skin and creates a dewey look while blurring pores and wrinkles, reduces redness, and plumps the skin. Little magic in a bottle, I tell you.
I am completely obsessed with the entire SuperGoop Line if you couldn’t tell from my previous post. I bought the spray mineral sunscreen a while back (because you can’t have kids and not have spray sunscreen) and its the best mineral sunscreen spray I have purchased. Goes on easily and dries clear. and I also purchased the stick a while back as well and love it for touch ups on the kiddos’ face and ears.
But, my two favorite purchases in May of the SuperGoop line are for the mamas! I was super excited to purchase and try this sunscreen powder . It can go over your makeup and you can continue reapplying as needed when you’re out in the sun all day! My face breaks out with oily sunscreen, especially when I am having to constantly reapply it, so most of the time I would never reapply (not good, I know). This has been a game changer! 100% mineral sunscreen, moisturizing, sweat resistant, refillable, and comes in 4 shades.
And this next one is so fun! A little compact of sun care color……add to your lips or cheeks!
I also love the Pacifica line of sunscreen for myself! And I love this bronzing sunscreen spray. It smells divine!
Also from the Pacifica line (and I know it’s not sunscreen, but I just have to tell you about it) are the deodorant underarm wipes! Ya’ll!!!!!!! These stay in my purse at all times! It’s super hot in Alabama in the Summer! Like 700 degrees hot! There’s nothing worse than having sweaty under arms. These will freshen you up in 30 seconds and I love every scent they come in. My favorite and what I have right now is the pineapple scent.
It can be super hard to find bikini’s that aren’t “almost thong like”. I really don’t know how women wear those and walk around (but more power to them). I was searching for a high waisted swimsuit, and every single one I tried had that same 2 inch width booty coverage. Until I finally stumbled upon this one by Tularosa and immediately ordered it to try.
I love the color, love the ruffle and as you can see from the picture below, the booty coverage of the bottom!! Best swim purchase I have made in a long while! The top can be worn on or off the shoulder. There is also a one-piece version that I’m dying to try.
There’s also a one-piece version that I’m dying to try!
and if you’re in need of a great black two piece that won’t break the bank, look no further than this target swim score!
I love the scalloped detail (reminded my of the marysia swim), the bottom has the perfect coverage and I can chase my kids around the pool all day and not worry about it slipping out of place on me. Runs tts and I wear a small in both top and bottom.
I’m loving all things palm print! These shorts will be worn on the reg; over my black swim suit, with a white tee, dressed up with a black silk tank…the ways to style them are endless. I love that they’re high-waisted and silky light weight.
I’m also obsessed with gingham. I found this cute little off the shoulder ruffle top on target.com. Also comes in black and I may or may not be getting that color too! I mean, for $24…..you can totally get both!
This cute little chambray dress is a must! Dress it up or down. Super light weight and I love the ruffle detail. And the best part…. It’s on SALE right now for $17
I’m also loving this hat from Target. It’s packable, I’ve gotten it wet numerous times and it has dried just fine, and it has a cut out in the back for you to be able to wear a ponytail. Thanks to a local GF for pointing this out to me one day while we were both on a Target run! It’s been a great hat to wear to the pool and beach!
I hope you enjoyed the recap of my favorite purchases from May. Let me know what your favorite item is from this post and which one you’re most wanting to try/purchase! Also, let me know what you’ve purchased recently that you’re loving!
