I’m all about outfit staples, OKKKUUURRRTTT!!!! >> (Have you seen Jimmy Fallon’s interview with Cardi B!? I DIE!!) If I had to choose one that I thought carries its weight in GOLD, (besides blue jeans, of course) and that I couldn’t live without (besides my leather jacket) it would be the blazer. It’s a piece you can wear and style so many different ways, and get a different look each time you wear it. In Fairhope, Alabama, we don’t really get much of the frigid cold temps, so even in the Fall and Winter, a weight of a blazer may be all you need. I do stock a few of them in more springy fabrics and weights (like this linen one pictured) because I work in real estate and I love to wear for meetings and appointments no matter the season (there’s something about throwing on a blazer for a business meeting and feeling like a boss). A blazer is a great option for that awkward in between business casual work wear (like WTF is business casual anyways!? MEH!!) where pant and skirt suits are TOTALLY out of the question, but you still want to look professionaI and “businessy” and fashionable. All you really need to add is a blazer to strike up the perfect balance of professional and stylish. Look at my IT girl, Olivia Palermo, and how she has styled it………

I also love a blazer bc I get cold EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I go out to dinner (apparently places like to keep their air on -30 in the Summer), or the movies, or anywhere at night PERIOD! I’m always in need of a little something something to keep me warm, but still makes me look put together and like I planned to top off my look that way all along.  The blazer also makes the perfect travel companion. It’s light weight, doesn’t take up a lot of room in your suitcase, and it complements everything under the sun, from dresses, blue jeans, dress pants, denim shorts, skirts, and even sweats (don’t knock it till you try it). Right now, I’m loving it paired with a tee and cut off denim shorts. I love the contrast between the super tailored blazer, the casual tee, and the edgy vibe of the cutoffs. Pair with a bootie, a heel, sandals, or even sneaker, the Blazer is the perfect “polish” piece that finishes off your look and takes it to the next style level.
