Today we spent the day in Montgomery, Alabama, where my husband had his last interview/testing to become a United States Citizen!! And I am so excited to say that HE PASSED! He is so proud to be in this country and it really has been so eye opening to be a part of this process from start to finish.

We took a little time after the interview to check out Alabama’s capitol building. It really is an amazing sight!

I chose this Free People plaid dress as my “look of the day”! It’s still warm in Alabama, even though this morning I swear it felt a little bit like how Fall weather is supposed to feel. Can I get an AMEN!! But this dress was perfect for the warmer Fall like weather. I love the sleeve, the shape of the dress, and the tie detail. I also love this plaid print. These two colors have to be my favorite combo right now!

I am glad the plaid trend is here to stay this Fall! Plaid was everywhere last year, and the thing about Fashion is that it usually moves on fast from trend to trend. Sometimes certain trends stick around for a while, with plaid being one of them. It is HUGE for fall 2018, and you can find it in everything from blazers, coats, skirts, accessories. You name it, plaid will be on it.

I also love the plaids that I have found that have metallic mixed in. This top would be so good for Holiday!!
