I know you’ve heard, (hell, I’m sure everyone and their mama has heard by now) that the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on now if you’re a card holder and in a few days for all. I’ve shopped this sale in the past years and have really loved it. I got one of my very favorite coats during the sale last year (Remember this cream shearling number!?
Yep, that was from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.)( I did actually find a similar one in this year’s sale HERE) and lots of my fall shoes every season come from this sale! It’s usually a great way to shop and add some new Fall trend items to your closet for the transition period from summer to Fall. So when the sale was gearing up I did an inventory of some things I knew I would probably need to add to my wardrobe for fall like I do every year. (It’s super important for you to go into this sale with some sort of game plan, or you’re just all over the place.) So when the sale went live, I searched EVERY SINGLE PAGE like I’ve done every single year. This year seemed kind of off for me. I know I’m about to bust a few bubbles, but I want to be as transparent as I can be on my blog and to give you all my honest opinions about everything and that means the good and the bad! I know it’s probably taboo of me to say this, but here it goes…. I’m not that impressed by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year (GASP!!!) DID I DARE SAY THAT OUT LOUD!?
Yes, girl, yes, I SURE AS HELL did because I looked over page after page of the sale and let me tell you what I saw…..the same basic shiznit from last year, lots of leopard (groundbreaking print for fall, right!?) and lots of BASIC booties. BASIC BASIC, BLAH BLAH BLAH! and not even that great of basics and not even that many items as the past years. I could have skipped the entire sale all together, but there were things in the sale that I needed and use that were goof prices. Let me also add that some of the things I would have liked to have purchased from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (like the felt hat with the snake band) were already sold out by the time I got on to shop (I will link those items just in case they come back in to stock) After looking and looking and looking, there were only 6 items that made it into my cart and are shipping to me and here they are…..
1. – This Alo Jacket I know I will wear all of the time with my workout wear this Fall/Winter. I missed out on the one from last year and kicked myself every day for it. I knew I needed a throw on like this for workout wear days this coming year. 2. – How cute is this leopard rain coat from one of my favorite designers, Arielle Charnas of Something Navy. I love leopard and I thought this was something different being a rain jacket. I always need one for fall/winter in South Alabama. 3. – Hanky Panky is my favorite undies brand! I’ve worn them for forever and the basics are never on sale. I knew I needed to snag a few (the 4 for $59 is a good deal for these) during this sale. ( I know so boring, right!? but practical) 4. – Lounge wear for those cold days is a must when I’m working from home. I thought this would be a cute set for traveling as well or I could mix match with different top bottoms. $25.90 for joggers is reasonable basically like target prices right there! 5. – I got a Blank NYC Suede Jacket last year during the N SALE and wore it a lot last fall and winter. I love the color of this one and the fact that the style is different than the one I got last year. It’s a great price and I can wear this color with black jeans, denim, snake print, leopard print, cream, lots and lots of styling options. There’s also a corduroy option (that looks super similar to this one) in the sale that is less money ( I think it’s under $60) HERE . 6. – Denim is always a good purchase during this sale because most of the styles in the sale sell out quickly and will never go on sale any other place. I chose this pair by Mother Denim because I’m kind of over skinny jeans at the moment and felt this style was a good transition jean into fall!
That pretty much sums up the 6 items I purchased from the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I would love to hear what your thoughts were/are about the sale this year….I really just want to know if I’m the only person that feels this way about it…..eeeeek!!
I hope that you all know I will only share what I love here on VP of STYLE! I want to be as transparent as this platform allows and give you my honest opinion on items I use, buy, and love, and items I plan to buy and even those items I would love to be able to buy (if we had that ever growing money tree out back, ha!). Thanks for stopping by VP of STYLE! Be sure to check out my post on all of the items I’m loving outside of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, HERE!
